A NEW DAY

Like pages of a diary, etched in memory

Are the lessons of my life story

None too small, none too bright

All in all they led me to a new light

A child to a girl to a lady to a woman

I transformed to a love into which my spirit was interwoven

Along came friends

Some for a reason, some for a season

With each passing one, I only strengthened

Lest I succumb to treason

Stepped forward a kinship, to help me unfold the secrets of life

In his friendship, I found a strength that ebbed away a pain cutting through me like a knife

Words of wisdom he passed on

Life is short, not long, so move on

You have your strength, find now your courage

Deter not from hurdles for I will be here to assuage

Standing on the threshold, getting ready to depart

My best friend gave me the key to my locked heart

I fold into it my pictures of yesterday

I travel across the sea in pursuit of a new way

Like a caterpillar to a butterfly

I unravel with a happiness that is ready to multiply

From beauty to passion, in a land of the unforgettable

From strangers to friends, blossoms a relationship that was inevitable

Amidst them, vanish my fears of the past few days

And I rise and smile, for its a BRAND NEW DAY

MY NOTE TO A GUIDE

Multitudes of experiences makes for multitudes of stories

Many of them are life traumas, mistake them not for just their worries

To admonish them is a mistake, for they seek not your acceptance

A daunting task, if it is to undertake, walk away without reluctance

To self realize is a process & with every step comes a life lesson

So hurry them not as their pain you will only aggravate & not lessen

Your intention to lead & inspire is not a role, its your attachment

Share your knowledge and let it be, for that is true detachment

One size fits all is a misguided approach

Which in turn only leads to reproach

Shower some empathy as it is all about perspectives

Show not apathy for stems from it unrealistic directives

Evolution & dissolution often happens in conjunction

To progress & regress is a part of life & not a dysfunction

So please aim to guide & not play the devil’s attorney

For life is not a destination, it is a journey

These are musings by which I intend to abide

So this is a note to myself and MY NOTE TO A GUIDE !!!!
